Who this policy covers

Handraise is a set of tools that help Australian businesses do sales outreach. In running it, we handle personal information about three groups of people:

  • Customers - the businesses and people who subscribe to Handraise.
  • Prospects - the business people our customers research and contact using the output Handraise produces.
  • Website visitors - anyone who visits handraise.au.

What personal information we collect

From customers

When you sign up, we collect your name, business name, email address, ABN, and billing details. As you use the platform, we hold your account settings, the tools you run, your credit balance and billing history, and support messages you send us. Payment card details are handled by Stripe; we do not store your full card number.

About prospects

When you use a tool to research and prepare outreach, we process the prospect's name, business email address, business name, role, and business website. This is business contact information, and its source is described below. We do not collect special-category or sensitive information about prospects.

From website visitors

Our marketing site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand page views, navigation and broad acquisition patterns. Google Analytics may set first-party analytics cookies and receives technical information such as page URL, browser, device, approximate location and referring site. We do not send names, email addresses, prospect details or form contents to Google Analytics. Our product app uses PostHog to understand how signed-in customers use the tools; it is not loaded on the marketing site.

Where prospect data comes from

Prospect data comes from our Australian business index, public registers, business websites, and approved providers of published business information. Contact Discovery may process a person's name, role, work email address, and public LinkedIn profile URL. It checks the target business's own website first and may use a provider to verify a published address or locate an address for a named decision maker. Handraise does not infer or guess contact values. We record the source and verification time for a result.

How we use personal information

  • To provide and operate the Handraise tools and produce the output you ask for.
  • To match prospects and prepare videos, leads, research, and verified contact results that land in your dashboard.
  • To process payments, manage credits, and administer your account.
  • To provide support and to contact you about your account and the service.
  • To keep the platform secure, prevent misuse, and maintain our audit records.
  • To meet our legal obligations.

We do not use prospect information to build a product we sell to other people, and we do not send anything to your prospects (see below).

Our lawful basis

  • For customers: performance of our contract with you (providing the Handraise service).
  • For prospects: our and our customers' legitimate commercial interest in contacting a business about its services, using business contact information compiled from public registers. This is a business-to-business context.
  • For website visitors: we use limited analytics to understand and improve the public site. The Privacy Act and Australian Privacy Principles apply where analytics information is personal information.

We have no send path

Handraise cannot email, message, or otherwise contact your prospects. The tools produce work - videos, matched leads, research dossiers, and verified contact results - and that work lands in your dashboard. Any outreach that reaches a prospect is delivered by the customer, through the customer's own accounts. We are not the sender, and nothing leaves the platform to a prospect automatically.

How we share personal information

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We share it only in these ways:

  • Service providers who help us run the platform, including cloud hosting, payments, and business contact verification. They are bound by contract to protect the information and use it only to provide their service to us.
  • Professional advisers, such as our accountants or lawyers, where needed and under a duty of confidence.
  • Authorities or regulators, where we are required or authorised by law.

If the business is ever sold or restructured, personal information may pass to the buyer or successor, subject to this policy.

Overseas disclosure

Handraise and its data are hosted in Australia. We do not routinely transfer personal information overseas. If a service provider we use processes data outside Australia, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with this policy and the APPs.

Data retention

  • Customer account data is kept for the life of your account and for 30 days after cancellation, unless you ask us to delete it sooner or the law requires us to keep it longer (for example, tax records).
  • Prospect data is kept only as long as it is needed to provide the requested tool output and meet our legal obligations, and is removed on a valid request where required.
  • Website analytics are retained according to the retention period configured in Google Analytics, which we keep no longer than needed for site measurement.

Data security

We use technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and monitoring. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep the risk low and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 1988 and the APPs, you can ask us to give you access to the personal information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it. You can also object to how we use it, or ask us to stop.

If you received outreach from a Handraise customer

If a Handraise customer contacted you and you want to know whether Handraise holds personal information about you, or ask for access, correction, or deletion, contact us at support@handraise.au. The customer sent the message through their own account, so direct any message-level unsubscribe request to that sender as well.

If you are a customer

You can access and update most of your account information directly in your dashboard. To access, correct, or delete other information, or to close your account, contact us at support@handraise.au.

We respond to requests within a reasonable time and, in any case, within the timeframes the Privacy Act requires. We may need to verify your identity first.

Data breaches

If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) and the affected individuals, in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act 1988.

Cookies and analytics

Google Analytics may set first-party analytics cookies on the marketing site. We use them for site measurement, not advertising, and do not enable advertising features. The product app also uses cookies needed to keep you signed in and run the service securely. You can block or clear cookies using your browser settings.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first at support@handraise.au and we will look into it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify customers by email and update the date at the top of this page.
