Handraise is a trading name of AJBERRI PTY LIMITED (ABN 15 146 964 203). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information in connection with the Handraise platform.

Scope

Handraise provides a platform for Australian businesses to conduct personalised video outreach. In doing so, we handle personal information about:

  • Our customers - the businesses and individuals who subscribe to Handraise.
  • Prospects - individuals who are contacted by our customers through the platform.
  • Website visitors - anyone who visits handraise.au.

What personal information we collect

From customers

When you sign up for Handraise, we collect your name, email address, business name, ABN, and billing information. We also connect to your email account (Google Workspace or Microsoft 365) to send messages on your behalf.

From prospects

When Handraise is used to contact a prospect, we process the prospect's name, business email, business name, and the business website URL. This information is sourced from Boosta, an Australian business database compiled from public registers and published business information.

From website visitors

We collect standard web analytics (pages viewed, referring site, browser information) via Plausible, a cookieless analytics service. No personal identifiers are collected or stored.

How we use personal information

  • To operate and maintain the Handraise platform.
  • To send outreach messages on behalf of our customers.
  • To process payments and manage accounts.
  • To communicate with customers about their accounts and the platform.
  • To comply with legal obligations, including the Spam Act 2003 and Privacy Act 1988.

Lawful basis for processing

For prospects contacted through the platform: the legitimate commercial interest in contacting a business about its services, using business contact information compiled from public registers.

For customers: performance of a contract (providing the Handraise service).

For website visitors: consent (via analytics opt-in).

How we share personal information

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We may share personal information with:

  • Service providers who help us operate the platform (cloud hosting, payment processing, email delivery). These providers are contractually bound to protect the information.
  • Regulatory bodies when required by law.

Data retention

Customer account data is retained for the duration of the account plus 30 days following cancellation, unless earlier deletion is requested. Prospect data is retained only as long as necessary for the campaign for which it was collected. Website analytics data is retained for 24 months.

Rights of individuals

Prospects and non-customers

If you have received an email from a Handraise customer and wish to:

  • Access what personal information is held about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your information from our systems.
  • Object to further processing.

You may exercise these rights by using the unsubscribe link in the email you received, or by contacting us at support@handraise.au. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988.

Customers

Customers may access, correct, and delete their account information through their account dashboard. Account deletion requests can be made by contacting support@handraise.au.

Data security

We implement technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encryption at rest and in transit, access controls, and regular security assessments.

Breach notification

In the event of a data breach involving personal information, we will notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) and affected individuals as required by the Privacy Act 1988 (including the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme).

International data transfers

Handraise is hosted in Australia. We do not transfer personal information outside Australia unless necessary for the provision of the service (e.g., cloud infrastructure providers with data centres in Australia).

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified to customers via email and posted on this page.
